More than 300 Salvadorans celebrated U.S. Independence Day in public concert

With a concert offered by the 39th U.S. Army Band, the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador celebrated with more than 300 Salvadorans the U.S. Independence Day.

From New Hampshire, United States, the band conquered the hearts of Salvadorans and made the whole audience dance to the rhythm of pop,

country and American rock songs. The 39th U.S. Army Band has top level musicians from the military who are required to have a high level of musicality and versatility.

This is the second time they have performed in El Salvador, previously playing at the Ilopango Air Show in February 2023.

We have many ties that unite El Salvador and the United States and we cannot exclude from these ties the music we share and enjoy in our day to day lives,

stated Ambassador William Duncan at the beginning of the concert.

The event was attended by more than 300 guests, including alumni, participants of various programs funded by the diplomatic headquarters,

implementing partners and friends of the Embassy. The concert was also attended by the three winners of the “Amigos de Siempre” social networking contest.

Alejo Martinez, Ernesto Ch and Kelly Merino, who were selected by correctly answering a trivia quiz about the friendship between the United States and El Salvador earlier this month.
